APRES SKI AT D&G
D&G showcased their Fall collection yesterday in Milan with a large dollop of Apres Ski. Furry mukluks were teamed with long, flowing dresses yet again picking up on the monocrome trend seen in New York and London. I'm not too sure the looks could translate into everyday fashion (ie. the cabel knit body's), but I can imagine the Apres Ski style cardigans coming into Topshop and Zara come Autumn.
My favourite look from the show, minus the boots, has to be the white, ruffled floor length gown with a black neck tie. I would love to see this andrognious look on someone like actress and model Diane Kruger.

LOVE BALL
Just a quick post about how gorgeous Kate Moss looks at the Love Ball, hosted by Harper's Bazaar editor Lucy Yeomans and supermodel Natalia Vodianova in support of the Naked Heart Foundation. The ball, held at London's Roundhouse saw stars such as Kate, Amber Le Bon, Rachel Zoe and Stella McCartney come together to help build play facilites for under-privaleged children in Russia and also here in the UK.

STALKING STREET STYLE
So I haven't posted a street style piece for a while so I thought why not now, whilst I'm waiting for my new Greige nail varnish to dry. The credits have to go to fadetoblack, a New York designer, Melika D a stylist from Montreal, Elle May a student/photographer from Australia and last but not least Stefany A, a 16 year old student from London...Find all these great looks at lookbook.nu.

HOW COULD I MISS THIS?
With the rush of the London Fashion Week, the ELLE Awards and the Oscars round the corner I gave the BAFTA's a wide berth. The only reason for this was because on my initial investigation there wasn't anything really to write home about. But then something passed under my fashion radar. How gorgeous does Poppy Delevigne look in this silk Chanel creation?

ELLE STYLE AWARDS - RATE OR SLATE
Last night saw the yearly round up of the fashion pack at the Elle Style Awards 2010. The night saw Naomi Campbell receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award and making a tear jerking tribute to friend and designer Lee McQueen. The red carpet was awash with gorgeous creations, most fresh from New York and London fashion week. I wanted to stay up and watch the live feed on ELLE website but tiredness took its hold and I was out for the count by 11pm, that’s when it hit me, I am officially old!
I was hoping the Olsen twins and Olivia Palermo would make an appearance and they didn't fail to make an impression. Below are my favourite looks. Who do you think shone?
For me Danni Minogue in a Lisa Ho gown looked radiant, she definitely has that glow! For once I chose Mark-Kate Olsen over Ashley and Olivia Palermo looked fab in a Matthew Williamson creation fresh from Sundays show. Alexa Chung looked effortlessly beautiful in Chanel with her staple quilted Chanel bag. Nicola Roberts flew the flag for the Girls Aloud team in a statement fuchsia Vanessa Bruno suit.
The girls that didn't do anything for me style wise were Lisa Snowden in a Peter Pilotto gown, Paloma Faith with a long feathered scarf/head piece and Jameela Jamil in some sort of 70's print catsuit. Leona Lewis is always so non-descript but this Alexander McQueen dress would have looked great if she'd have left the accessories to the simple yet stunning hat and took away those 80's lace fingerless gloves.

GRUNGE CHIC
Sienna Miller and Savannah Miller, the creators of Twenty8Twelve showcased their 2010 Fall collection yesterday to the London crowd of fashion month. The girls opted for a presentation over a runway this year and the results were a mix of grunge-chic inspired pieces set in the wood-panelled walls of the Art Nouveau palace. This inspiration pretty much sums up my state of style right now, which is why I adored the collection. I'm not a fan of celebrity collections per say but Twenty8Twelve is in another league all together.
Pieces that I see on the catwalk are elements that I could imagine taking and twisting them into my everyday life. Yet with Sienna and Savannah's collection, I would wear every outfit styled. I loved the mix of velvet (something that was spotted all over NYFW) and leather, with Khaki and wool. The designers thought process is seen in the inspirational mood boards posted below, found on the girls website.

SIENNA - MUSE, FRIEND AND FASHIONISTA
How fabulous does Sienna Miller look as she supports friend Matthew Williamson for his 2010 fall collection earlier on today? I never thought white shorts and black tights could look good, turns out it could. Thank you Sienna, glad to see your back on my fashion radar.

BLACK + GOLD + VELVET = PPQ DELIGHT!

Black and gold was the theme for PPQ's 2010 closing show yesterday, with a mix of velvet, gold lame and what looked very much like curtain tassel! All very 80's I must say. I would have liked to have seen more colour but the collection as a whole worked well even with a hint of Joan Collins circa 1985. I especially liked to tuxedo playsuit, which would look great on someone like Daisy Lowe.

ALWAYS ONE FOR A PRINT
Yesterday saw the return of Greek-born designer Mary Katrantzou, with a collection of created around her trademark geometric patterns and contrasting colour pallets. Style.com commented on the merging of "photographic images of lace, jewels, ormolu, medals, and sashes in ways that vaguely recalled Gianni Versace's more-is-more scarf prints."
How gorgeously royal does this wool tailed coat look? If I had to pick one piece from the collection it would have to be the floral and white lace prints one sleeved dress, teamed with military style ankle boots, complete with large gold fastenings.
I'm never one to turn down an eye-catching print and Mary Katrantzou hasn't failed this season. Now I best make my way to Topshop so I can snap up one of her iconic designed tee's for a price that is more graduate friendly.

OLIVIA PALERMO AT TOPSHOP UNIQUE
It's no secret to my regular readers that I have a huge style crush on Olivia Palermo. The reason I like Olivia's style is that not only does she dress impeccably well, polished and refined but also she has a style that is achievable. Topshop seems to be a staple stop off for the socialite when she pops over the pond for fashion week.
Posing here on the front row of today's Topshop Unique catwalk show, Olivia is sporting a Topshop Unique dress (available in store now) and jacket (not released as of yet). A beautifully put together look at a price I can afford. I've put together my own version of the outfit, with a Balmain jacket available at net-a-porter, a vintage clutch bag from myvintage and shoes from Topshop priced at £65.00 available here.

CELEBRATING LONDON
With LFW in full swing, I thought instead of waiting round anxiously until tomorrow for the first images of the Sass and Bide show from earlier this evening, I wanted to celebrate the diversity and original outstanding style from the people of the capital itself.
London has that effortless and unique approach to fashion which is what makes the city one of the hotspots for street style photography. These images were kindly taken from Street Peeper, a hunter among the prey that is the fashion pack.

CLASSIC KLEIN
How chic do these front rowers look at the Calvin Klein show yesterday. It makes me want to forgoe accessories and live a simpler, more tailored life instead of my sometimes scruffy/mostly boho wardrobe. I'm loving the grown out sun-drenched locks of Isabel Lucas.
Kate Bosworth, Kerry Washington, and Naomi Watts looked fab in Calvin, somehow managing to look styled as a group with perfect colour co-ordination. This look screams New York.

MARCHESA FALL 2010
I waited for these images all night, sent over fresh from the other side of the pond. Fellow fashionista's kept me up to date with Twitter pics and regualr desciptions of her opulent and luxe gowns. I've been a major fan of Georgina Chapman since her first collection in 2007 which featured detailed flowers on every piece of the 26 strong collection.

I HEART MICKEY
This picture from Marloes Horst: Blanco Spring/Summer 2010 look book made me remember how much I love Mickey Mouse...this the perfect summer day look.
OVERWHELMED AT THE BRITS
Since Lily Allen found Chanel, actually Karl Lagerfeld, she has been looking sleeker and chicer by the day. Then came the Brit Awards, notourious for celebrities getting far too drunk and slip-ups by the second. Britain at it's best I say! This Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 actually stuck out when I first spotted it, but only because I picked it out as the perfect Oscar dress for Cameron Diaz. How fab would she have looked with hair tumbling down in waves and a slick of red lip. This look overwhelms Lily, with the intricate neckline on the dress and her new sharp bob. I would have liked to seen Lily in maybe something like this Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture gown with its nude ruffles, black feathered skirt and sheer panelling. Much more rock and roll for the Brits.

ALEXA CHUNG FOR MADEWELL
In the midst of New York fashion Week, cool kid on the block Alexa Chung unveiled her designer collection with Madewell, the sister brand to American retailer J Crew.
The fashion pack flocked to see the collection, which included a mix of denim shirts, bretton style tops and short sixties style shift dresses. Basically, Alexa’s dream wardrobe!
Alexa’s classic urban style is worked into the collection, making this the perfect New York meets London capsule wardrobe. Friends were at hand with Poppy Delevigne and Pixie Geldof modelling, whilst Daisy Lowe worked the crowd and DJ Tennessee Thomas brought the party to the Bowery Hotel Terrace in NYC.
The scene was typical Alexa, bicycles placed against old wooden benches and flowers strategically positioned. The models were kept natural, with loose hair, rosey blush and and nude lips. No catwalk was needed, this collection was simply a come-look and see with the audience having the chance to have a face to face look at the garments.
The designer rocked some gorgeous velvet high-waisted shorts, cream silk shirt and a thin leopard print belt, something that was seen all over the catwalk throughout NYFW.
The collection will be available from Madewell stores and hopefully online by the end of the season. Standout pieces include a cream chiffon shirt dress, blue long-line wool coatigan and brown lace-up brogues. Grey socks worn with sandals were typical Chung, with the designer laughing saying: “Sorry about that, the grey socks worn by many of the models were from the “school boy department” at English retailer John Lewis.”
