HART OF THE MATTER...

Even though I'm still buying things in the sale for my holiday at the end of August, my mind is looking forward to the start of a/w11, especially with all the gorgeous new stock coming into store. Model Jessica Hart is modelling a gorgeous array of a/w11 pieces for Spanish ELLE. I'm loving the fur and textural mix of animal skin, suede and sheer. Jessica has become one of the biggest rising models of this year, with a cameo in The City, a campaign with swimwear label Seafolly and shoots including ELLE, Vogue Australia and Melbourne Fashion Week.

MORE IS DEFINITELY MORE...

It's always refreshing to see a change of appearance in celebville, which is usually found in between the pages of the latest glossie. Rihanna has to be my favourite celeb/style icon and I'm please Glamour US chose her to grace their front cover. When is Ri-Ri going to get an ELLE front cover in the UK I wonder? I know she's done to the US edition in that fabulous Balmain dress on but I'd love to see her sport a really feminine forties style cover for the UK. Lorraine Candy, lets hope you've got something lined up!

In regards to the singers latest editorial I love the way she's gone for a total make-under, proving that sometimes more is more! How gorgeous is the white feathered YSL coat (which I spotted when it was fist modelled down the catwalk)? Which is your favourite look from the shoot?

AMY WINEHOUSE

I couldn't just bypass the unbelievably sad news of the death of Amy Winehouse this morning. Although for many it was almost expected the death of such a talented individual is devastating. For those making light (within hours I received numerous jokes by text) of the situation I ask you to remember that this is someones daughter, sister, friend. Lets not remember Amy for anything other than her amazing soulful voice.

RIP Amy x

IN THE RED

If one colour is to take centre stage this autumn/winter without fail its got to be red. Translating from the catwalk (Isabella Marant remains the queen of red 7/8 skinnies) to the high street, red is set to be the colour of the season. From berry to cherry, different shades create a variation of looks from femme fatale through to the ruby slippers of Dorothy.

Warehouse presents a gorgeous red blazer for the new season which looks fantastic when teamed with black tailored separates. Here are the pick of my favourite red pieces to pick up now in time for autumn.

Embroidered skirt, Topshop £38

70's platforms, Kurt Geiger £195

Skater Dress, Miss Selfridge £42

Wet look jeans, Miss Selfridge £40

Stone Necklace, Topshop, £30

FRIDAY = APPRECIATION OF ALL THINGS CUTE

Not only is Nicole Richie looking boho-luscious in this pic, daughter Harlow is looking even better. Totally inheriting her dads gorgeousness and her mum's sense of style, mini-Richie looks unbelievably cute in a floral print dress and flip flops. Look at the way she's eyeing up mum's shoes, probably wondering when she'll be able to wear heels like her school buddy Suri Cruise?!

COLOUR FILLED RESORT

I've had a little break from blogging, partly due to the busiest time of year at work and my father not being too well. Now we seem to be getting back on track, or at least to the point where my mind can look to other things apart from hospitals and hand sanitiser. It's kind of been really nice to get tweets and messages noticing that I've been off the radar and asking when I Heart Fashion will be returning. Well I can't promise daily updates but I'm going to try shower IHF with love more regularly.

Regular readers will know how much of a huge fan I am of anything Elie Saab, and with all the commotion of the past few months I totally overlooked the resort collections. Of course, the usual Chanel, Dior etc have been seen through the pages of Grazia, Vogue etc but I wanted to take some time to look through style.com to see what Elie had in store. The colour palette for the new collection was amazing - kingfisher, fuchsia, and my favourite a zingy lime green. Of course the designer didn't stray from his signature style but why would he, its the reason the fashion world loves him!
