Nicole Richie was spotted leaving II Sole in LA yesterday, sporting a sleek high ponytail which I love! I've always found my hair for too thin to create such a 'swishy' ponytail but I'm not entirely sure this is all Nicole's natural hair either. Despite this I think she looks fantastic, I'm loving the blonde shade and the fringe frames her face perfectly. In terms of outfit rating, this would have to be high up on my style-o-meter. The ladylike jacket, teamed with a midnight blue velvet dress scream rock stars wife dining! The green velvet bag you see is a House of Harlow bag which is set to launch next summer. I know this because I have actually just written an interview with Nicole for the next issue of the magazine I work for. I was hoping to speak to her direct but had to settle for questions answered by email. I couldn't care less, because this is my last issue of acting editor before I move on to become editor-in-chief of one of our sister titles and Nicole was the perfect way to end a fantastic nine months.
I always seem to the miss the resort collections, probably because they don't get as much coverage as the mainline shows but I do try find time to take a look back and see which collections stand out. This is why I was pleased to see Zoe Saldana wearing a Prabal Gurung Resort 2012 dress. It led me directly to style.com (who by the way are launching a magazine in October to co-inside with the s/s12 shows - v.exciting!) where I took a look at the full collection. Colour was prominent but no as you would find a full blown spring/summer collection. Splashes and highlights were teamed with black and white to create a collection of statement, contrasting wardrobe additions. My favourite piece from the whole collection has to be the gorgeous gradient dress below. The colours are perfect for spring and mini/longer sleeve length is set to continue its reign into 2012.
What do you think of the Prabal Gurung collection? Which is your favourite resort collection so far?

Before I say anything else can I just say how dissapointed I was that I wasn't at V Festival this year! With a stella line-up including Rihanna, Jessie J, Eminem, Example and Eliza Doolittle the festival attracted some big names, including the gorgeous David Gandy, obvs watching girlfriend Molly King perform on the V Stage.
After trawling through the pictures this morning it seemed in terms of style there really was only one way to go! The shorter the better! From denim cut offs to leather hotpants shorts were the key wardrobe item of the festival. Seeing girls like Rihanna and actress Lenora Crichlow, girls with strong, toned legs rocking the shorts look, has given me the confidence to whip out my 'sturdy' looking legs next week on holiday.
Take a look at the girls who rocked the shorts look...who do you think worked it best? For me its always going to be my girl Rihanna.

I thought I'd share a little blog loving with you lovelies this morning by showing you one of my favourite blogs like EVER...if there's one woman who can inspire me when shopping and getting dressed its Laura Fantacci, fashion and shopping editor at Red magazine and writer of the WIT (Wearing it Today) blog.
Even though I live, breathe and work in fashion I'm not the sort of girl who can rock a watermelon head piece and contrasting Oscar De La Renta dress (I'm lightyears away from Anna Dello Russo). I am however in tune with what's 'in' if you like and am more of a classics girl, black being my staple go-to colour and accesories always chic and eye catching. Fantacci has such a gorgeously timeless style, mixing Breton stripes with Chanel and some fantastic high street finds.

Although living in England I have no chance of buying anything from Khol's but I was still excited to see the new LC Lauren Conrad collaboration. As expected she looks super-hot with her ombre hair and sun kissed tan. I could seriously hate this girl if she wasn't so dam nice! The key looks have to be the dresses and its clear to see Lauren's style in the collection. I can picture her wearing all of these looks in The Hills, especially the blazer and dress walking into the Teen Vogue office. What do you think of the new collection, are a fan of Lauren or do you think her time as a fashionista has passed?

When I was catching up with the looks from the Teen Choice Awards last week I came across two faces I wasn't that familiar with. It's always refreshing when you find a new celeb with great style credentials so I thought I'd share these two and delve deeper into their wardrobes. First up with have Shay Mitchell who stars in Pretty Little Liars. I love her look from the TCA's, especially the red blouse and sleek ponytail.
Lastly I heart this sheer panelled dress she wore to the MTV Movie Awards. It looks great with the gold bangle and three tire necklace - very Grecian.
The second face I came across while looking on Red Carpet Fashion Awards was Nina Dobrev. The Vampire Diary's actress looked cute in a gingham D&G dress and white handbag.
Looking back through the archive of Nina images it seems she has a very Disney Club style, that followed by the likes of Victoria Justice, Selena Gomez and a younger Vanessa Hudgens before the horror crop. This black prom dress sums this look up and even though as a 26 year old its not my own personal style I can certainly see her growing into a fashion icon.
This little black number is a racy especially with red lips and red satin heels. I'm loving the lace panelling although the actress is close to dressing to old for her age. A high neckline could have worked better although the young starlets in the Hollywood seem to love their bandage dresses!

Leslie Mann attended the premier of 'The Change-Up' in LA last night in a gorgeous embellished Marchesa dress. I've never really taken much notice of Leslie Mann style wise but I certainly will be from now on. I think this is one of the best dresses I've seen in the past two months. The belt, up-do and matt gold accessories really make this look and I'm loving how she's gone old school Hollywood glamour and painted her nails and lips a classic red. What do you think of Leslie's look? Loving or loathing it?
I absolutely heart this bright turquoise shift dress from Topshop, I have it mind for when I start my new role at work (more of that to come later). The midi length, block colour and gold detailing make it the perfect transitional piece for my a/w11 wardrobe - easy enough to wear with sandals and bare legs or tights and boots when the weather turns a little brisk.

The gorgeous Lily Donaldson is the face of Aldo's new holiday footwear range and along with it comes a brand spanking new campaign. I'm loving the Studio 54 style glitter platforms that are ideal for a uber cool party I'll no doubt miss on New Years Eve. With shoes like this who needs accessories! Taking inspiration from the art of magic the collection includes black and red patent wedge boots and leopard print detailing as seen below.
