BEST DRESSED OF THE WEEK

Before hit the madness of the Grammy's and the Bafta's tomorrow night I thought I'd take a look back over the last week and see who made it into my best dressed category. Obviously we all know how gorgeous Beyonce looked as she stepped out in that red ALICE by Temperley dress but I think it was the super-slim figure of the new super-mum we were all gasping about not the actual dress.

First up Rose Byrne, who looked absolutely breath-taking in a nude and black lace McQueen dress for the amfAR Gala to kick off NYFW Fall 2012. I adore her new bob and along with her recent Elie Saab jumpsuit choice Rose is definitely having her fashion moment.

Sarah Jessica Parker was also in attendence at the amfAR Gala in a stunning pink Oscar De La Renta gown, accessorised with a huge diamond statement necklace. For those who saw her on the red carpet, how pleased were you when she removed the white Michael Jackson style gloves and leather biker jacket?!

Solange Knowles is certainly catching her sister up in the style stakes with this gorgeous Vera Wang dress at the Runway To Launch event in New York earlier this week. See how she is cleverly placing her huge envelope clutch to shield her modesty from a unexpected gust of wind. The blues compliment Solange's skin tone and the choice of orange lipstick sets the look of perfectly. I need and want those shoes in my life.

Gabrielle Union meanwhile rocked the perfect little black dress for the premiere of 'Think Like A Man' wearing a black chiffon cocktail dress from Amsale. I love the corset style top and jacquard skirt, highlighting Gabrielle's tiny little waist. If I was to look for the perfect black dress right now then this would be it - except I'd have to get toning my slightly flabbier than normal arms.

Lastly, we turn to the gorgeous Olivia Palermo who of course looks nothing short of fabulous at the Peter Som Fall 2012 show at NYFW. Kicking back in flared denim and a fur gilet, Olivia P continues her assault on the front row, and for that I am incredibly grateful! Can't wait to see what LFW brings..

PERFECT WEEKEND WARDROBE

If you're lucky enough to be getting swept away for a romantic Valentines weekend then well done! You've managed to secure yourself a decent guy who you need to keep a tight hold of! If, like me, you'll be spending the weekend single (note: not desperate or Bridget Jones-esque) then why not take yourself off for the day and fill your time with shopping, lunch followed by a decadent cupcake and sightseeing.

Looking at your own town or city as if you were a tourist really highlights just what is on your doorstep. I've lived in Leeds for 27 years and there are still some parts which I've never ventured (as apposed to certain places I've chosen not to venture to). You could visit the local art gallery, go to the cinema solo, check out the museum you walk past every day on the way to work, eat at the restaurant you've always fancied...absolutely anything! If you're a blogger like me then go buy yourself a new note book, get a window seat at the cute little coffee shop on the corner and just write.

MAGGIE + ME

I'm very lucky in my line of work that I get to travel to trade shows (Bread and Butter, Berlin, Pitti Uomo, Florence and Who's Next in Paris for example). When I worked for the womenswear magazine WWB I discovered a great label called Maggie + Me at the Pure trade show. I featured them in the magazine but now I've moved over to the dark side - menswear - I thought it would be a perfect time to feature the brand on my blog.

Founded in 2010 the brand is already stocked across the UK, including House of Fraser and Minnie's Boutique, with collections that take inspiration directly from the catwalk. The name derives from the relationship between the designer and her grandmother - Maggie, who taught her the art of sewing and creating her own clothes. OLIVIA, ME AND ZENA

One of my plans for this year is to look at starting a side-line business to one: give me a little extra income and two: stretch my mind slightly from the day to day running of a menswear magazine. It's still in the initial thought processes (which means I've jotted a couple of ideas down in my new Life Plan 2012 notepad) but I'd really like to create some kind of home wear/gift/jewellery website this year...a bit like Not On The Highstreet, obviously not as big...yet. Lindsey Wixson features in March's issue of Harpers Bazaar in a shoot photographed by Terry Richardson. With a location as picture-esque as Miami, its no surprise this editorial turned out to be as hot as it did. Lindsey isn't, if I'm honest, one of my favourite models but she looks gorgeous here because for once she's smiling! I'm loving the roller boots teamed with a little Emilio Pucci. The blue lace Valentino below meanwhile was one of my favourite looks from the designers s/s12 collection while the while Donna Karan dress has a slight Kate Moss for Topshop thang going on.

I wouldn't usually following a front cover post with another but I couldn't help but let you all see this Victoria Beckham cover for i-D magazine. Wearing all her own designs, of course, Victoria reminds us how good she looks in a hat! Looking gorgeous, if not super slim after the birth of little Harper, the designer gives an insight into how she really feels about her style transition while getting older.

“When I started it was all about the corset dress. That’s what people associated me with, and possibly if I’m honest a sign of my own insecurities as well. But the older I get and the more comfortable I am in my own skin, the more I realise that to look great and feel great I haven’t always got to wear something tight.”

I don't understand why Lana Del Rey suddenly has a barrage of haters? After reading all the tweets about her British Vogue cover, which is by the way absolutely gorgeous, it's new to me why she's on the receiving end of all this abuse? I love her album, her voice, her style and think she's the perfect cover star for the March issue. I love the freshness of this cover and Lana is an unpredictable choice which is why I think it works so well.

If there's one trend to try out this coming season it has to be prints. Seen on s/s12 catwalks from the likes of Nicole Farhi, Antonio Marras and queen of digital print Mary Katrantzou, dense florals and graphic motifs are set to be the key look of the summer months. For those with a little more gusto, then clashing prints are even more catwalk worthy. Taking a little inspiration from the above, these are my key print pieces from the high street - if you're feeling brave you could try teaming two or three of these pieces together. THE PERFECT SHIFT DRESS

This month I have a few appointments and shows with work where I have to look smart - as in meeting with potential advertising clients smart. I'm guessing my usual get-up of ballet pumps, skinnies and t-shirt won't cut it so I'm looking for a couple of smart, but still stylish, dresses to wear with heels. I'm going after V.Beckham smart not Kate Winsor smart by the way. The high street is perfect for this sort of purchase because even if I only manage one wear I haven't spent an absolute fortune on a Roland Mouret number. I love the boldness of the coral and pink numbers although I'm a little unsure about either shade for winter? The hip detailing is gorgeous however on the coral design. The blue dress meanwhile is structured and would look great with heels and a black blazer thrown over. Or even a white blazer, although my eating skills are similar to that of a three year old so maybe I should stick to a darker palette. Hmmm, I think I might need a little help deciding...

East London designer Velvet Johnstone presents her latest collection for s/s12 with a focus on contemporary and luxe designs. I'm a huge fan of anything feminine, with style icons such as Olivia Palermo and Whitney Port, this is definitely a label I'd wear. Working in fashion I can tell any budding designers out there, spending money on good quality photography and creating a professional lookbook has more chance of securing coverage that a shoddy one. If I spot a gorgeous image on fashionising.com for example, I'm more than likely to look into the brand a bit further and feature them on I Heart Fashion.

BEST DRESSED FROM THE 2012 SAG AWARDS

Last night the Screen Actors Guild Awards took place and as usual I sifted through the outfits this morning to give my opinion on the best dressed and...well Zoe Saldana! There was little in terms of surprising designer choices, although Emma Stone is back in my good books after the Golden Globes Lanvin incident. Wearing a mid-length McQueen black number the actress looked fantastic and having rarely seen Emma in black, it made her red locks look even more vibrant. Complete with McQueen horse clasp clutch bag and black heels the actress for me was easily the best dressed of the night.

Other good looks came from Amber Heard in Zac Posen who is fast becoming one of the best dressed of 2012's award season and we're still only in January. Emily Blunt meanwhile looked great in an apple green Oscar De La Renta one-shouldered dress.

Now let me move on to my worst dressed of the evening and however much it pains me to say this about one of my favourite Hollywood dressers...Zoe Saldana what the hell were you thinking?!! Wearing a Givenchy dress like this to now wearing a Givency dress like the one below is almost an offence to fashion. The style doesn't fit and I'm not too sure why she looks to be wearing a wife beater vest underneath. I'm sure many of you won't agree but for me she has to be the worst dressed of the night.

I haven't check out Lookbook.nu for quite a while now but how glad I am that I did this morning. Pretty high on the list of top looks was this gorgeous creature, 18 year old blogger Kristina Bazan from Switzerland. With the looks of Elizabeth Olsen (with a little Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud) this girl is extremely stylish for her young years. Not afraid to use colour, and with the smokey eye seemingly perfected, Kristina is one to watch. WHAT WOULD OLIVIA WEAR?

I couldn't possibly go this week without mentioning the Spring 2012 Couture shows in gay Paris. Chanel was undeniably gorgeous, Versace was without fail quintessentially...well, Versace and Givency may have just started a craze for ornate nose rings. Giambattista Valli meanwhile presented a stunning collection which is probably my favourite so far. It wasn't necessarily the most adventurous Couture offering but with lace detailing, origami style folds and sleek silhouettes, the designer created a collection which featured a number of potential red carpet looks.

As Olivia Palermo is a huge fan of Giambattista Valli I decided to play a little game called 'What Would Olivia Wear?' - Original I know! Personally, I think she could pretty much pull off any of these looks but as a fan of colour the fuchsia number below would work well, especially with the accessorised neckline. We all know how much a fan Olivia is of statement neck pieces. I think the cream lace knee length number is very close to something she would wear now, but the baby pink ruffled number is slightly out of her signature zone so I'd love to see her sport this at say, the MET Gala this year.

RACHEL ZOE PRE-FALL 2012

As a huge fan of Rachel Zoe I'm surprised how long it's taken me to blog about her pre-fall 2012 collection. With a/w12 fashion month fast approaching, and Paris Couture Week starting, well now, I've decided to give you my run down of the key pieces I'd love to have in my wardrobe. I'm actually reading A to Zoe at the moment for the third time running...it's my bath book, where I sit back with a glass of wine (apple juice right now seen as I'm detoxing) and chill out for half an hour without my Blackberry/laptop/TV.

The thing I love about Rachel Zoe's designs (if they are actually hers and not just a collection she put's her name to) is the fact that I can actually see myself wearing them in every day life. Not to just a special occasion but to a work's do or to an art gallery opening for example (yes I am that cultured!). I'm not saying you'd see me sporting one of the floor length dresses down my local but the collection has wearability stamped all over.

First of all I am obsessed with the cranberry coloured blazer, especially when teamed with the floral Erdem style maxi. The satin collar makes it look that little bit more luxe. The blue pussybow dress teamed with jade green platforms would be a great date night option while the jacquard print suit complete with 7/8 trousers is a little more high fashion than high street.

Then we have the gorgeous evening numbers, which I could see both Nicole Richie and Vanessa Hudgens both wearing - especially the tie-dye style maxi. I heart the leather jacket thrown over the dress while the thigh split of the more sophisticated number is bang on trend.

Zoe features some fantastic outerwear options in her pre-fall 2012 collection, including this gorgeous red number. I've been on the search for the perfect red coat after becoming green with envy over Laura Fantacci's red zara coat on her blog http://www.wearingittoday.co.uk/. I'm thinking this could be the ideal antidote, depending on price. We all know Zoe likes a little fur so this gilet style jacket is perfect for those cold Saturday afternoons shopping. My favourite outerwear option however is this gorgeous cream military style coat. The fit, the detailing, the length...perfection.

Seen as I'm spluttering and coughing all over this morning full of the January blues I'm making this a quick post. Alexa Chung is the new face of Vero Moda for their s/s12 campaign and with a little help from the style queen herself, Chung has turned this brand into one I would definitely consider buying into. The model has the ability to look fab in pretty much anything she puts on, making clothes look more Prada than Primark. What do you think about this new campaign? Like or loathe?

GETTING THAT EFFORTLESS GOLDEN GLOBE UP DO

One of the key looks in terms of hair to emerge from Sunday night's Golden Globes was the messy up do - something I struggle to achieve without looking like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards! That was until I got an email to let me know about the new John Frieda's new Style on Demand channel on Youtube.

Following the likes of Emma Stone and Charlize Theron, the video tutorial helps you achieve the perfect bohemian style up do and if I can attempt it then you guys certainly can! Its the perfect day to night hair style, kind of effortless while still been stylish. THE BEST DRESSED FROM 2012'S GOLDEN GLOBES AWARD

The Brits were on form at last nights Golden Globes 2012 with host Ricky Gervais causing yet more cringe worthy moments for Hollywood's elite, taking a swipe at various celebrities. Kate Winslet was on hand, in a gorgeous curve hugging Jenny Packham dress, to accept the award for Best Actress for her role in Mildred Pierce. Downton Abbey meanwhile scooped the award for Best Mini-Series while the sexy Idris Elba won a Golden Globe for his part in hit TV series Luther.

In terms of dresses on the night there were certainly more loves than loathes although some choices were mind boggling - yes Sarah Michelle Gellar I'm speaking to you! There were gems like Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie but the likes of Emma Stone and Natalie Portman let me down with their dress choices, both in odd choices from Lanvin. Mile Kunis worked the red carpet in Christian Dior while Jessica Biel gave me my fix of Elie Saab (minus Justin or engagement ring I might add).

I think the overall look of the night for me has to be Jessica Alba though who glowed in a lavender coloured Gucci number. Take a look at my picks of the night, along with a couple of misses from the likes of SMG, Zooey Deschanel and Rooney Mara.

NEW ON THE HIGH STREET

Taking a little inspiration from the catwalks of s/s12, my high street wish list comprises of candy and pastel tones from the likes of Topshop and ASOS. Although I wouldn't necessarily wear these pieces as a combo, I think each piece could be worked in to my wardrobe with little effort. The cropped cable knit jumper for example would look great over the floral blouse, maybe teamed with some skinnys and the Studio 54 style platforms? Or a simple white tee tucked into the yellow paperbag skirt and mint coloured backpack for an art gallery visit? The platforms and skirt would look fab together too come to think of it, with maybe a plain white vest top tucked in. THE PERFECT OUTDOOR SPACE

The one thing I miss when living in the city centre is having an outdoor space. I have a small balcony but not enough space really to have any kind of seating area/plants/herb pots etc plus I face away from the sun for most of the day with a huge building facing my exterior. I'm not painting a very nice picture here :) but that's city living for you!

I'm looking to move out of the city this year to a gorgeous suburb called Horsforth. For those who live in London, it's Leeds' version of Clapham. The one thing I'm looking for more than anything (other than a full size freezer in comparison to the letter box sized excuse I have now) is a garden space. I'm not saying I'm a keen gardener but I'm more than happy to buy some already-potted plants and a sun lounger for the summer - somewhere to drink pimms lets say.

DIANE KRUGER, A VETERAN OF STYLE

One of my favourite style icons is Diane Kruger. Not only does she manage to look effortlessly gorgeous at every red carpet event she attends but she also has casual dressing down to a tee. A keen fan of Chanel Diane can usual be spotted in a quintessential Parisian ensemble, whether it be a tweed jacket or Breton top. The model and actress is rarely spotted without handsome beau Joshua Jackson by her side. Now that's a piece of arm candy I could be persuaded to swap my Chanel 2.5 for.

As you know Diane already featured at the no.2 spot for my Top 50 best Dressed of 2011 so is for me already a veteran of fashion. Who are your style icon, is it someone obviously stylish like Diane or someone a little less known?

SNUG AS A BUG

I believe in setting goals rather than declaring resolutions when a brand new year kicks off. I like to set myself a number of little goals and one major goal each year, aiming to achieve it before the year is through.

2010's major goal was to get a job I loved and as you know I landed editor-in-chief of a menswear magazine. 2011's major goal was to get my first apartment - I did and I love the feeling of living alone, doing whatever I want, whenever I want.

Now this years is goal is going to add to that sense of freedom if I manage to achieve it - learning to drive. But to do this, I'm going to need to save a whole heap of pennies. Therefore nights in are going to be my new nights out. January and February are the traditional months to stay in, keep warm and detox after a month of hardcore Christmas partying. This year I intend to learn to cook real grown up dishes, while finally reading the mountain of un-read books stacked at the side of my bed and looking stylish while doing so.

Just because I'm staying in to save, doesn't mean I can't look good on the cheap does it? Here are a few pieces to keep you looking glam through the winter nights.

MULBERRY GIRL

Every time I see that Mulberry has thrown yet another soiree oh how I wish I was cool enough to receive an invite. I actually just wish I had enough money to be able to afford a Mulberry purse never mind a sumptuous Tillie Bag - which, in my opinion has slightly overtaken the Alexa in the style stakes.

From the brands editorial to uber chic pool side parties (see above for the table decorations from the Mulberry party in LA's infamous Chateau Marmont hotel last month), every part of me wants to be a Mulberry girl. I absolutely heart the brands s/s12 ad campaign, with its seaside inspired candy coated fabulousness photographed down on Brighton Pier none the less. With models of the moment Lindsey Wixson and Frida Gustavsson fronting the campaign, location however takes a back seat.

In and amongst the pink lemonade, Mulberrys very own ice cream van parked outside and oversized balloon animals scattered throughout Claridges, the Mulberry runway show was a mix of candy stripes and waterproof hooded jackets - making fun of the quintessentially wet British summer. Creative Director Emma Hill certainly knows how to create a full lifestyle collection, developing to be more than just a bag label - the talking point of the show were the Mulberry dogs walking down the catwalk decked out in thier very own Mulberry ensemble. I'd get a dog just so I could dress him in a lemon sobert colour kagool.

If I was a Mulberry girl I would have to be someone like the ever so beautiful Kate Bosworth who is often seen partying with creative director Emma Hill. Girlfriend of tennis star Andy Roddick and model Brooklyn Decker has caught my eye recently, not only because of her choice of neon shoes but because of her sudden style make-over. I took a look back over the past year or so and I'm sure you'd agree in 2010 Brooklyn wouldn't have been a celebrity you would have gone to for style inspiration. However, after her recent outings in Christian Dior Resort 2012 and the gorgeous Nha Khanh lace dress pictured above, Brooklyn is now on my radar to watch.

It kind of helps she's a whole lot of beautiful, with flawless skin and perfectly highlighted locks but how gorgeous does the model look in her aqua-blue Tory Burch dress? Her orange Jimmy Choo's are a perfect choice as are the sunshine yellow Choo's she wore to the Spike TV’s 2011 Video Game Awards last weekend.

Brooklyn's love of neon really shone through at the Met Gala this year in this vibrant pink thigh-split number from Michael Kors. Simple hair and make-up, with minimal accessories let the dress do the shouting. And I'm sorry but when you have a body like Brooklyn's, a Victoria Beckham creation like this nude dress puts the designer herself to shame.

After paying for all my Christmas presents, paying my rent and planning my boxing day party I have very little money left to buy myself anything *sadface* so this morning, to make myself feel even worse I decided to do a little imaginary shopping. Even though I seem to be in complete denial about the weather, wearing ballet pumps as those around me scurry past in their lopsided Fugg Boots, I decided a chunky knit or two couldn't hurt. That's when I spied this knitted cable lurex jacket from Topshop (£45) - very Chanel 'esque I must say. This would look fab over a simple top and black skinny jeans with maybe a bronze statement necklace.

JASON WU WOWS ONCE AGAIN

So yesterday I may have lied to you. Not intentionally but yes, OK, I lied. I said that Burberry Prorsum was my favourite pre-fall collection. That was until I sat late last night salivating over the new Jason Wu pre-fall 2012 collection. Following the likes of Diane Kruger and Zoe Saldana, I have become a huge fan of Wu - especially after the gorgeous gem encrusted thigh splitting gown Kruger wore as the designers guest to the Met Ball earlier this year.

This new collection, from the plum lips to the slick styling, is gorgeous. It's very rare that I manage to like every single look in a collection but Jason has hit the nail on the head this fall. Skin tight trousers are adorned with contrasting textures while the dresses have been delicately embroidered by hand. Taking a little inspiration from Gucci it seems with huge flower corsage headpieces, the collection doesn't fail to impress. Although I wanted to show you every look I picked my favourite 12 pieces (Too much?). Which look is your favourite...I'm torn between the camel and black story and the the blue and green combination.

BURBERRY PRORSUM PRE-FALL

Seen as I spent yesterday morning gawping over the Chanel collection I took a little time out this morning before work to check out the pre-fall presentations. I usually only pay attention to the main seasonal collections but this week I want to make a conscious effort to look through them all, seen as pre-collections are more likely to be spotted on celebs/models/poptarts going about their everyday business.

First up we have Burberry Prorsum which actually reminded me of a Kooples advert with the gorgeous Cara Delevingne and Charlie France modelling. With a very British take on styling with structured jackets and slim silhouettes, Christopher Bailey has whet the appetites of the fashion crowd to see what a/w12 brings this up and coming season.

The dresses for me are spectacular, especially the floor length orchid design. The collection has a slight mad-men feel to it and although for me that trend has definitely seen its day this has to be one of my favourite ever Burberry collections.

CHANEL BLENDS AN INDIAN TWIST

Karl Lagerfeld presented his 79 piece Chanel collection yesterday - Métiers d'Art, which took direct inspiration from India. Having never been to the country the designer said after the show; " "It's much more inspiring not to go to places than to go."

Fascinated by Indian fashion and the beauty of traditional dress myself this collection drew my breath away. The models, both male and female, were styled to look like Indian Royalty the catwalk set around a banquet table of palatial excess.

Style.com summed the show up perfect by saying; "All that aside, Paris and Bombay blended beautifully in pearl-swagged tweeds, in a raw silk tunic over leggings (they were actually sinuously bootlike, so we should probably call them beggings or loots), in sheer paisleys, or side-draped asymmetry in ivory silk. The elegance of a lightly peplumed jacket and matching skirt in ivory silk had absolutely nothing to do with geography. It was simply French chic."

A LITTLE CARRIE INSPIRATION

Last night I finally got my new laptop transformer sent through. I've been without laptop for over a fortnight and as any blogger know that can equal disaster! I've been lucky enough to be able to blog from work before I start and through a dinner time which is something I'll probably keep up with. Anyway, without my laptop meant I have been without Sex and the City and Friends. I usually watch an episode of either on a night when I'm wrapped up in the duvet but I've had to stick to reading my I Heart New York series from the the fabulous Lyndsey Kelk, giving me a little NYC fix. So to celebrate getting back up and running I thought what better excuse to take a look back at some of Carrie Bradshaw's finest New York moments. I suppose it's a better reason than any.

This is one of my favourite outfits from season 2. Carrie always had a knack of wearing gorgeous vintage floral dresses but making them totally relevant, with the gold waist belt and quilted bag as pictured here.

This was Big's last night in season 4 and Carrie had bought some gorgeous candy pink suede Manolo Blahniks which Miranda subsequently broker her waters over! The winning piece in this ensemble is the gorgeous velvet coat - this complete outfit has to be in my top 5 looks of all time.

I love everything about this outfit from the nude shoes, so nude its hard to tell if she's actually wearing any at first, to the structured sweetheart neckline. This looks like a Westwood but I'm not too sure as it could have been an Oscar De La Renta. The white studded belt gave the dress an edge - something which was copied all over the globe once the Carrie effect took place.

This was the moment Carrie found where she wanted to get married to Big, at the New York City Library. This scene sparked ideas of when I finally do get married, I want it to be in a small, niche location away from your every day church service. Would it be too much to get married in the tiled hall at the Leeds City Library? Maybe it wouldn't have the same effect!

I love this scene where Carrie no longer has a cell phone so goes back to the good old outside telephone. Knee socks are always a wary option for the over 20's but somehow as always Carrie pulls it off. The leather driving gloves are a little Gok Wan styling for my liking but I can forgive her this once.

If you asked me to chose between the gorgeous satin Vivienne Westwood structured number accessorised with a bird head piece and harsh red lips and this simple vintage two-piece I would have to say the latter every time. It was the first choice for Carrie and summed up the simple wedding she and Big first wanted before Vogue, a guest list of 275 and page 6 took over. Its simple and classic, showing off her blue Malono's perfectly.

ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY COVERS HARPERS BAZAAR

Model of the moment Rosie Huntington-Whiteley covers the January issue of Harpers Bazaar and doesn't she look fabulous. Sporting a Burberry satin dress in one version and a figure showing Micheal Kors swimsuit on the other. In total RHW produced three covers with the subscribers issue capturing just the models face with a gorgeous red pout. Its hard to chose a favourite and the only persuading factor is the January isn't the best issue to be sporting a swimsuit on the front cover, even though its the time of the year where everyone promises themselves they'll shed weight! If Rosie in a swimsuit or a satin dress doesn't inspire/shame you into hitting the gym I don't know what will!

I'd forgot how utterly gorgeous this 50's inspired prom dress from Louis Vuitton was until I spotted it again on Miranda Kerr. The model slipped in to this gorgeous number for the opening of Louis Vuitton Maison in Sydney, Australia on Friday night. Modelled by Lara Stone on the runway for LV 2010, it seems the dress is suited to models with actual breasts rather than stick thin figures. Miranda accessorised the look with Louis V black peep toes and black clutch while her hair pulled back created the perfect canvas for the cherry red pout.

BRITISH FASHION AWARDS LOWDOWN

So the talk of the British Fashion Award's was the Brand of the Year accolade going to Victoria Beckham. She looked gorgeous in a floor length VB number, accepting the award to say how her three boys had something to take to 'show and tell' at school now. Victoria's dry sense of humour is why so many people love her but after reading in the paper this morning about Kate Moss snubbing her with mutual friend Marc Jacobs, it seems she still has a way to go to be accepted by the fash-pack.

Alexa Chung meanwhile looked like she had just stepped of the plan from a hot country in her little Christopher Kane number and sun kissed skin. I don't know about any of you but I'm hoping Alexa does something different with her hair and soon. Ombre locks with a messy fringe is boring now - spice things up AC!

Olivia Palermo looked stunning as usual, in a fringed Matthew Williamson number. Smokey eyes and a slightly bouffant bun added a sexy sixties twist and of course she accessorised perfectly but we would expect anything else.

I don't actually know why Kelly Brooke was at the awards? 'Designing' a collection for New Look surely wasn't the reason she received an invite but despite that she did look like a Greek goddess in her white floor length dress with a high thigh split.

Who do you think was the best dressed at the BFA's? I have to give a special shout out to the gorgeous Kate Hudson who not only wore a stunning black cut out Stella McCartney number but presented the Red Carpet award to the designer.

The singer wears various ethereal catwalk creations including Simone Rocha (above), Alexander McQueen and Richard Nicoll. She looks dreamy - like marshmallows wrapped up in a sheath of fabulousness! Lady GaGa is at her best for me when she's stripped back and laid bare. No headless nuns or meat dresses, just her with minimal make up and simple fashion. She makes more of a statement wearing a simple shift than one her outrageous ensemble.

I love anything animal print (Bet Lynch count yourself as one of my all time favourite animal print wearers) so this playsuit from Topshop is the ideal buy for a Saturday night with the girls. The black bow emphasises a small waist and for £46 it will become a staple in my wardrobe - chunky knit, tights and ballet pumps for a winters day shopping and studio 54 style platforms for a night out with cocktails. A NEW FACE TO WATCH - KATIE BRAATVEDT

Whilst looking through the latest issue of Vogue UK I came across a new face I'd not spotted before in the Miss V section of the magazine - Katie Braatvedt. I've tried to look for the picture of Katie at the Coach event but can't seem to locate it anywhere. I was curious to see what the model had done previously and after a little fashion-spot research I found out that New Zealand born Katie was the youngest ever model at 15 to be featured on the front of Australian Vogue. I also love how different she looks with each editorial, I heart a model with a versatile face. Don't get me wrong Lindsey Wixon is a fab model but she seems to pull the same pouty face every shot I see her in. What do you think of Katie...potential or just another face?

DECORATE THE HALLS WITH HOLLY...

My favourite time is drawing closer and as this will be my first Christmas in my own place. Which means I get to decorate however I want...and if I want pink then so be it! My living room is a mix of opulent textures, fur, velvet, sequins and satin while decoration comes in the form of LOVE letters, flowers, vintage Vogue posters and lots of gorgeous coffee table books which I'm actually yet to read but look great out on show. I'm intending to go to town this year with decorations seen as I'm hosting boxing day for the family and an early Christmas dinner with friends. However, I'm looking for something a little more stylish than Wilkinsons...don't get me wrong, half of apartment comes from Wilko's, I'm just looking for something a little more unusual. I have to admit american clothing label Free People hasn't been a name that I'd necessarily go to when shopping but after finding these images of its a/w11 collection I might just have to pay a visit online this lunch time. Free People was Urban Outfitters before it changed its name and became as big as it is today. Created by Dick Hayne back in the 1970's Free People was designed for the bohemian woman..."a 26-year-old girl, smart, creative, confident and comfortable in all aspects of her being, free and adventurous, sweet to tough to tomboy to romantic. LUNCH TIME SHOPPING AT ASOS

ASOS is my fail safe e-tailer when it comes to lunch time shopping. I'm almost always guaranteed to find something last minute when I haven't had time to go into town to actually try outfits on. I've been shopping at ASOS for so long now (back when it was the place to by outfits you'd spotted on an actual celebrity) I know I can order my size and its more than likely to fit perfectly.

During my lunch time imaginary shopping spree I spotted this gorgeous polka dot skater dress which I'd team with black tights and ballet pumps. I also super heart this gorgeous floral midi dress although I think I'd have it taken up ever so slightly as midi's can sometimes cut me off at the worst possible point of my calf. This fuchsia colour is a nice way to brighten up my autumnal wardrobe although black is my go-to colour whenever I need to feel a little slimmer - which is pretty much all the time now. This is why I fell in love with this sheer skater dress with a button down front and sheer panelling. I'm definitely going to invest in this dress for my next night out in town for a cash-glam look (casual glamour is always a difficult look to pull off). Lastly how gorgeous is this tomato red dress with embellished bottom. This is the perfect addition to be worn with chunky heels and black tights...what do you think of my lunch time shopping?

How breathtaking does Lottie Moss look, sister of the infamous Kate? The 13 year old (yes 13!) took to her first test shoot by emerging photographer Andrea Carter-Bowman all long limbs and bambi eyes. She definitely takes after her sister in the beauty department and if this shoot is anything to go by Lottie has an amazing career ahead of her. Signed up by Storm modelling agency, the rising star was discovered at Kate's wedding earlier this year to Jamie Hince. Take a moment to check out the full shoot and let me know what you think. Just to make myself feel even worse after the hot roast beef sandwich and crunchie I ate this dinner time I decided to look at last night'sVictoria Secret catwalk. Jay Z, Kanye, Maroon 5 and Nicky Minaj all entertained the crowd while Miranda Kerr, Alessandro Ambrosio and Chanel Iman walked the catwalk. Besides the goddess like figures, curves still in tact but utterly devine, the models were actually looking their best at the after party. WORK CLASSICS

Apologies for not blogging for a couple of days guys, I've been holed up in the office working on a strategy plan to make the magazine I work for even better. Even though its been a long couple of weeks we actually thought of some pretty exciting ideas and plans for the coming year. For those that don't know I am the editor of a menswear trade magazine which basically goes out to independent retailers, e-tailers and department stores and we tell them what to buy into for the season ahead - so right now I'm working on a/w12 which is a little confusing seen as I'm dressing in a/w11 trends, forward planning my own wardrobe for s/s12 and then working on a/w12!

Anyway another personal outcome from yesterday was reading my Grazia magazine, in which they advised what you should wear for the job you want not the job you have. I'm the first to admit that my office is so casual we can get away with skinny jeans, a Breton top and pumps topped over with an oversized parka. But I have to admit it can sometimes verge on student territory if we're not careful. Seen as most of the office is under 30 living in our university wardrobes is still possible. After Christmas I have put together a budget of £300 to go out and get some key pieces from the high street to add to my work wardrobe. As I grow older I've come to realise I'm one of those girls who doesn't follow fashion religiously but prefers to wear skinny jeans, ballet pumps and a nice trench coat - Aquascutum if I had the money. My style is classic and as I step closer to 30 I'm looking to develop than into a more grown up look. Here are my Friday picks of my new grown up style...what do you think? Nicole Richie stepped out last night at the 15th Annual ACE Awards in a gorgeous black dress and House of Harlow 1960 'Val' clutch and simple earrings and ring to finish the look. She looks so doe-eye peeking out from under her fringe, I just wish I had the sort of face that suited a similar look. I've got a tiny forehead so its a no-go! What do you think of Nicole's look? HARPERS BAZAAR WOMEN OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2011

Last night Harper's Bazaar UK honoured the women of 2011 with a stellar attendance from those faces in the arts and fashion. Bella Freud, Yasmin Le Bon, Sophie Dhal, Laura Bailey and Florence Welch were just some of the faces to walk down the sleek black carpet. Every outfit screamed fashionista, with black running as a central colour throughout from the simple shift dresses to interior of the Claridges Hotel where the event took place last night.

After her gorgeous performance on Sunday nights X Factor Florence Welch cemented her position as one of the women of 2011 by rocking up in this Alexander McQueen gold floor length dress. On that note, congrats to Sarah Burton who won the designer of the year award - how could it have gone to anyone else after creating that dress. Sisters Poppy and Cara Delevigne looked stunning in gold and black ensembles, Cara rocking the biker boot with opulent sequins.

Last night Belfast played host to the MTV European Music Awards with the cuter than cute Selena Gomez presenting. The actress looked gorgeous in a series of outfit changes including this what looks to be a Marcesha white lace mini. The lime green bubble hem number was more suited to her age but there is no denying how good she looks with a messy side pony and natural make-up for the opening of the show. Yesterday the lovely Tabara of Ma Cup Of T sent me a picture of my numero uno girl crush Olivia Palermo looking less than perfect at The Princess Grace Awards Gala. This is distressing enough because I'd never expect Palermo to look disheveled, but this ill-fitting dress makes her look about 12 years old. She has a tiny frame so why she would want to highlight that with this two sizes too big satin bustier dress god only knows. It could almost be mistaken for a charity shop find which me and you both know would never be the case with Palermo.

Anyway, I spent this morning looking for an alternative outfits for the Queen P to wear, if time travel wasn't still just a dream. I think Palermo would look absolutely gorgeous rocking this floor length dress from Erdem, especially teaming it with this seasons clutch from Christoper Kane and some suede and python pumps from Christian Louboutin. HOLIDAY SEASON AT TOPSHOP

Topshop have released their holiday collection lookbook and from what I can see my November wage is going to be mostly taken up by sparkle and glamour! As you can see the festive period is all about luxe textures from velvet to fur to satin. Emerald green is teamed with the lightest pink while the multi-coloured sequin playsuit has to be one of my favourite pieces from the whole collection. It screams Studio 54, with Edie Sedgwick and Diane Von Furstenberg in my imagination wearing this sort of ensemble at the peak of the 70's.

Last night Amanda Seyfreid, along with the gorgeous Justin Timberlake, made her way down the red carpet for the premiere of her latest film 'In Time'. The actress wore a H&M blue suit with a black fitted shirt underneath accessorised with black trimming. Its great to see high street on the red carpet, usually if it is executed then its Topshop all the way. However, this metallic suit from the stores Eco-conscious collection looks perfect with tumbling curls and some hot arm candy! Who needs a bag when you have JT.

The highstreet is awash with blue short suits (if you look in this months company magazine Louise Roe is wearing a fabulous Reiss shuit with a floral short underneath and looks effortless) including River Island and ASOS. Here's a great short suit from Dorothy Perkins in an eyecatching cobalt blue coming in at £74 for the whole suit, although it can be bought seperately - shorts at £25 and blazer at £49.

It seems like ELLE UK saved the best cover till last with this gorgeous Michelle Williams shot. Wearing a cute Christmas appropriate red and white dress from Prada Resort the actress looks the best she's ever looked in editorial. I always find Michelle a little blah when I see her in fashion glossy's but this cover has made my month. While the subscribers cover is fabulous the newsstand cover is bland, with very little reference to the fact that its getting closer to the festive season (a festive season where I usually make too many unusual a.k.a disgusting cocktails from whats left in my alcohol cupboard). This has to be my favourite cover of December, of the entire year actually.

INSIDE THE WORLD OF RACHEL ZOE

I discovered these pictures on one of my favourite blogs of the moment Superficial Girls of Rachel Zoe's office. Having watched every single episode of The Rachel Zoe Project, from when Brad arrived to when Tailor left I have been slightly obsessed with the stylist ever since. Turning Nicole Richie into one of my all time favourite style icons (remember when Rachel was responsible for the rise of the Zoe-Bot?) was possibly the greatest achievement Rachel has in my eyes, from belly flasher on the runway to rock star wife and boho queen.

Even though I work in fashion (abet menswear now) it would be a cool change in direction if I could dress people instead of writing about what they are dressed in. One of my favourite programmes recently was the New Look Style Challenge which was presented by the gorgeous Nick Grimshaw - I'm sure many of you get equally as excited when a programme related to fashion comes on!

This is a lot like my office/bedroom with masses of magazine tears, done each season to create an inspirational mood board above my dressing table.

Every single colour you could need...I wish I could say I had something similar having recently become obsessed with painting my nails but I'm more likely to collect Barry M than Chanel, Jessica or OPI.

I've tried to recreate something similar with all my pieces of jewellery, making them more of a focal point than hidden away somewhere in a jewellery box. Hanging statement necklaces on the wall can make a great looking area in your bedroom.

One thing a stylist needs is open space and plenty of it, for those who have watched Rachel Zoe project remember on Oscar Week when mountains and mountains of samples arrived with barely any place to put them...

Only a quick post today boys and girls, I just wanted to whet your fashion taste buds with some snippets of street style that I'm loving right now. Scanning the pages of http://www.fashionising.com/ has to be one of my favourite lunch past times - that and seeing how many sweets I can eat before I fall asleep at my desk! Speaking of sweets, last Wednesday I stopped drinking alcohol and eating sweets to see how much difference there was in weight loss. I lost 4lbs so 1. I eat too many sweets 2. I drink too much wine and 3. There was definitely 4lbs of fat on my body to loose.

With Halloween just around the corner and still no outfit sorted for the fancy dress party I'm attending on Saturday night I thought what better time to look for a fantasy outfit but only if money was no barrier. Taking a little inspiration from September's Irreverent Dinner hosted by Carine Roitfeld, the look I'm going for is gothic but glam. Ciara looks fab in Givenchy while the Miranda Kerr, Abbey Lee Kershaw and Karlie Koss continued to fly the flag for flawless models across the world.

Now for my pick of Halloween dresses suitable for such a dinner...my invite for Irreverent Dinner must have been misplaced...hmmm confusing!

I feel like I might have let me love for Nicole Richie slide a little since Olivia Palermo came on the scene. What better way to start a Friday morning than showing you my favourite picks of the s/s 12 Elie Saab show. The designer said this collection was all about colour, and moving away from the first couple of pearly white and beige dresses that made it down the catwalk, the colours were intense. Elie Saab has to be without doubt my favourite designer for red carpet looks. Although his dresses rarely make it into editorials, many a celebrity are clambering to where these looks for various award ceremonies. Kate Winslet, Keira Knightley and Fan BingBing being three in particular. Front row of the show included Princess Beatrice and with the gorgeous Karlie Kloss closing, the show couldn't have gone any better.

PFW ROUND UP

Because I've not really had time to catch up daily on Paris fashion Week so now the end has arrived I thought I'd do a round up of my favourite pieces from the collections I love. First up has to be Alexander McQueen with the unbelievably talented Sarah Burton. This has to be one of my favourite ever collections from Burton, capturing the spirit of McQueen. The collection has a strong Marcesha/Rodarte feel to it with the open neckline and heavy feathering.

When I first began looking through the Louis Vuitton collection I was slightly disappointed. I disliked the a/w11 collection and this one wasn't doing anything for my fashion palette either. Except when I came across these two beauties. Kate Moss returned to the stage for Marc Jacobs with his LV collection wearing a gorgeous sixties inspired dress with flower cut outs and feather detailing. Its sad that this was the only piece I liked from the whole 49-piece collection.

Karl Lagerfeld didn't disappoint with this 85-strong collection for Chanel, taking his inspiration from under the sea. The metallic panels juxtaposed with leather and heavy prints could have been too heavy for summery hadn't it of been for the sugary pastel shades of pink, baby blue, mint green and white used throughout.

Last but not least is the lady like collection from Christian Dior, probably one of the most wearable collections I have seen from Dior since JG left. Going back to its roots the label presented a collection of smart Jackie O style suits and evening dresses which wouldn't have looked out of place on Grace Kelly.

Last week the Look show took place at Westfield Stratford and it seems from looking at the stylish audience red heads were the ones that ruled the style stakes. Having interned there previously I was asked to work the show but because of work commitments I couldn't *big sad face* but how I wish I had. LAID BACK LOOKS FROM FASHION WEEK

As well as trawling through the hundreds of pictures on style.com and various other websites during fashion week, I also love spending a little time looking at what the fashion pack were wearing outside the shows. Having recently moved into the menswear industry I was pleased to see at the weeks LFW that the men were equally as stylish! I had a packed day on Wednesday going to various shows which included the Aquascutum presentation, Christoper Shannon, Oliver Spencer and the James Small show where I partied with the likes of Jamie Winstone and yes, the one and only Kate Moss. I couldn't hide my excitement when she walked in and let Facebook know where I was and who was here. I only wish I could have been cooler like it was an occurrence that happens every day!

From walking around Somerset house it seems simplicity was few and far between but this is the sort of look I love. Give me a simple black dress to a wacky embroidered jacket any day. I'd prefer to just blend into the background and get on with my work rather than stand waiting to be papped by the many street style photographers. Here are some of my favourite looks from LFW.

Savannah Miller presented the Twenty8Twelve s/s12 collection to a private viewing audience earlier this week. The collection by the lookbook on Style.com was a simple range of separates and key dresses, summed up in my opinion as the perfect capsule wardrobe. I could see Sienna sporting most of this collection and the model used, with her slick of a red lip was cast perfectly. I also love the feline shaped sunglasses.

I could imagine this collection on Rachel Bilson, Nicole Richie, Cheryl Cole, Emma Roberts and Dione Bromfield.

Having recently come back from Ibiza, and having an amazing time at that, me and my friends were back on the holiday search 2012 as soon as the plane landed. We've chosen a gorgeous villa for 8 of us in Southern Spain which I'm incredibiliy excited for and although we're about to head into the midst of Autumn I can't help but look to my summer 2012 wardrobe already. Especially with the delights that came from Princess Catherine's favourite designer Issa. Big things were expected from the designer this season after all the fuss surrounding Kate and Will's engagement and 'that' dress. The collections didn't disappoint with some gorgeously colourful dresses and separates, with stripes and watercolour prints dominating the runway. THE BEST AND WORST FROM THE EMMYS

The Emmy's took place last night with winners including Kate Winslet for the Outstanding Lead Actress and Mad Men for Best Drama. I think with all the madness of fashion week I completely forgot about the Emmy's until I saw Kelly Osbourne tweeting from the red carpet. There were some looks that totally floored me and some that didn't quite live up to the occasion. The main one being Gwyneth Paltrow who sported a mid-drift baring Pucci number which on another occasion would have looked fantastic but the slice of skin just wasn't fitting for the occasion. We know you work out Gwyneth, you don't need to constantly show us the results because it just makes me feel bad! Her hair and make-up however were flawless. Here's my pick of the bunch.

CATCH UP WITH PALERMO

Olivia Palermo has now landed in London, having been spotted on the front row of the Toni and Guy hair fashion show at Somerset House last night. As we know Palermo is a huge fan of British designers and has become something of a regular of LFW. The socialite was also spotted throughout NYFW in an variety of gorgeous (no shock there) outfits. I'm loving the red leather look trousers shes sporting here with the perfect autumnal colour palette. So relaxed yet so chic. Here's a round up of Olivia over the past week or so...

One of my favourite past times is searching for new and undiscovered blogs. Although I don't post outfits myself I love to sit and be inspired by others. A blog which I recently came across (and plan to read tonight from begin to end) is Superficial Girls created by the gorgeous Carlinn from Cape Town. Not only is she gorgeous to look at, all blonde hair and sun tanned limbs, she has a fantastic sense of style. She isn't afraid to wear colour and lots of it, which as you know is a trait I also posses. You also get the feeling she's be a girls girl! COLOUR POPPING TROUSERS

I'm hoping to slim down my larger than average thighs this season with regular trips to the gym and chocolate/Percy Pigs in moderation. One reason being colour pop trousers. What an horrific time I had last season trying to squeeze my trunks into Topshop red jeans to only accentuate their size more! According to the trends emerging from NYFW so far it seems coloured trousers are as prevalent as ever. I loved the Isabella Marant red 7/8 jeans of a/w10 worn with a pointed stiletto while s/s12 seems to have a more relaxed take with lose silk peg styles.

Which trends to emerge from New York Fashion Week are you most excited about?

ALICE AND OLIVIA S/S12

I'm a sucker for colour which is why I was so shamed with myself that I've not paid much attention to NYFW s/s12. Like the majority of people in the UK, summer (or what we have of it) is my favourite season because I get to wear brights without looking like a complete fool. My winter wardrobe is a more subdued version but I fully intend to invest in some jewelled tones this season to keep my bright and happy. Colour blocking has to be one of my all time favourite trends, especially red and pink which shouldn't go together but as you can see on Sarah Jessica Parker here they clearly do!

The reason for my ode to colour is the fact that one of my favourite designers Stacey Bendet (who creates both colour friendly and accessible collections) has produced a gorgeous s/s12 collection which was showcased on Monday at NYFW. Like style.com said in its review the collection is best broken down in to pieces, a printed scarf here, a loose blazer there. Bendet also revealed her new shoe collection which have been designed to be worn with every single piece within the s/s12 range.

In terms of celebrities, I can see Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port and young Hollywood starlets such as Emma Stone and Ashley Tisdale in these key looks. What do you think of the collection?

With the accent firmly on the waist the s/s12 collection from Zac Posen, who returned to New York after two seasons in Paris, was like something from dress heaven. Inspiration was drawn from old Hollywood although I spotted various pieces which would well on the likes of Penelope Cruz, Scarlet Johanssen and Jessica Chastain...women with curves if you like. Colour switched between muted and delicate to bold and daring, such as the floor-length sculptured apple green gown. I can't wait to see who wears one of these stunning creations for award season.

HOUSE OF HARLOW BAG SPOTTING

Nicole Richie was spotted leaving II Sole in LA yesterday, sporting a sleek high ponytail which I love! I've always found my hair for too thin to create such a 'swishy' ponytail but I'm not entirely sure this is all Nicole's natural hair either. Despite this I think she looks fantastic, I'm loving the blonde shade and the fringe frames her face perfectly. In terms of outfit rating, this would have to be high up on my style-o-meter. The ladylike jacket, teamed with a midnight blue velvet dress scream rock stars wife dining! The green velvet bag you see is a House of Harlow bag which is set to launch next summer. I know this because I have actually just written an interview with Nicole for the next issue of the magazine I work for. I was hoping to speak to her direct but had to settle for questions answered by email. I couldn't care less, because this is my last issue of acting editor before I move on to become editor-in-chief of one of our sister titles and Nicole was the perfect way to end a fantastic nine months.

Marks and Spencer's used to be a place where my Nanna shopped, with the only time I ventured near the doorway would be at Christmas time to buy something for said-nan or because I knew I was guaranteed some blingtastic wrapping paper. However, the brand had a restructure, a complete new marketing strategy and what seems like a completely new design team. The new a/w11 collection from M&S is sleek and seventies...just what the new season called for. With its leather skirts and oversized fur coats the whole collection has a slight Balmain feel to it. Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the lookbook...it seems outerwear is going to be one of the collections strongest selling points, just take a look at that gorgeous purple fur coat!

DELVING INTO THE OFFICES OF WHO WHAT WEAR

For those that didn't see on Twitter yesterday (my timeline was full of tweets about this) the website http://www.whowhatwear.com/ has undergone a little but fantasticly chic makeover. Complete with a new logo and collaboration with stylist Rachel Zoe the site is a one-stop shop for all things celebrity and fashion. What I love the most about the girls over at WWW is that they make it all so accessible.

Sometimes when I'm surfing through fashion websites some can be lets say a little pretentious and leave me feeling like the geek at school who wasn't cool enough to be friends with! But the founder Hillary and Katherine have done a great job or creating a site which is both informative and addictive to read.

Whilst taking a look through the new site I came across some pictures which illustrated how the pair have decorated their new office space having recently moved to a bigger location. This is definitely my sort of style, all white, clean and chic with fresh flowers and fashion books placed around - the sort of style I am striving for in my apartment! Let s take a look into the offices of Who What Wear...

PRABAL GURUNG RESORT

I always seem to the miss the resort collections, probably because they don't get as much coverage as the mainline shows but I do try find time to take a look back and see which collections stand out. This is why I was pleased to see Zoe Saldana wearing a Prabal Gurung Resort 2012 dress. It led me directly to style.com (who by the way are launching a magazine in October to co-inside with the s/s12 shows - v.exciting!) where I took a look at the full collection. Colour was prominent but no as you would find a full blown spring/summer collection. Splashes and highlights were teamed with black and white to create a collection of statement, contrasting wardrobe additions. My favourite piece from the whole collection has to be the gorgeous gradient dress below. The colours are perfect for spring and mini/longer sleeve length is set to continue its reign into 2012.
